Notice is hereby given that the following job vacancies now exist:

Classification Title:         (2) Civil Engineers

Work Location and hours:        MHS (Boston) - Shift TBD

Salary Range:   $ 992.78/wk. Min. to $ 1,284.18/wk. Max.

Summary Statement of Duties:

 Under the direction of the Design Engineer or a Division Engineer, prepares plans, specifications and estimates for bid documents; prepares or assists in the preparation of  designs and specifications for engineering projects; supervises and administers construction projects;  maintains records of projects; updates project documentation and performs other engineering duties as required.


Minimum Entrance Requirements:

Education:       
Must have a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering  discipline from an accredited college or university.

Experience:      
Must have at least three (3) years of experience in civil engineering, design or construction.

One (1) year of experience in the operation of Autocad design software is preferred.

Must have a knowledge of roadway, bridge and tunnel construction practices.

Construction survey and layout experience preferred.

License:           
Registration as an Engineer-In-Training or a Professional Engineer preferred.

Must have a Massachusetts Class D driver's license.     *(Copy of license must accompany application.)

Physical:          
Must be capable of performing all of the tasks required by this classification description.

Other:              
Must be self motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must be experienced in the use of standard PC based application software.

Must be able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
