Ted Williams

 Ted Williams   Ted Williams sure had some great years. In 1939 he made his major league debut with the Boston Red Sox, and set the record for most runs batted in by a rookie. In 1941 he became the last man to hit over .400 for a season (.406) while leading the league in home runs (37) and runs batted in (120). In 1942 he won the Triple Crown. In 1957 he was the oldest player to win a batting crown. In 1995 he added one more milestone year to a career that includes serving his country in two wars and raising millions for charity. On July 5, 2002 Ted Williams died at the age of 83.
